We believe that learning methods need to reflect the fact that people learn in different ways. All personnel attending learning programmes are hard working individuals and therefore they will demand learning methods, learning styles and learning objectives that meet their specific needs. When delivering personal and management skills training, we will react to this demand by not subscribing to classroom talk and chalk as appropriate learning methods but utilise learning methods that always fully actively involve course participants. We will also make sympathetic reference when operating as HRD consultants, whether helping customers with their HR development strategy, or training the trainer or conducting training needs analysis or establishing learning resource centres.

Working with our customer we will utilise learning methods that best suit each course, its learning objectives, participant level, type and needs.

Where possible we endeavour to create challenging situations that are often complex but entertaining, and relevant, to fully maintain participant interest and involvement. Throughout the learning process we include a variety of learning methods for example video, participative exercises like situation analysis, organisation diagnostics, case studies, self studies, and role plays, but the most stimulating learning methods we can utilise are action centred learning and computerised business simulations.

Our prime concern is to ensure that learning methods are appropriate to participants work related problems and therefore real examples/situations from participants own experience will feed group discussion and studies. In addition participants will be involved in action planning, work based assignments and projects, and the use of personal development portfolios to ensure that learning migrates to improvement in the workplace.

The learning process is validated by regular progress reviews and evaluation, problem solving sessions and presentations with tutor and group feedback, as appropriate.

We believe learning methods need gearing to three simple precepts:

1. People learn by doing and by being involved.
Therefore our learning programmes will utilise specific work based tasks, underpinned by theory and discussion, designed to explore application in a variety of situations.
2. People like to be treated as mature individuals with respect and not patronised or pampered or treated as a disposable resource.
We recognise that it is people who plan, co-ordinate, and direct the organisation's resources and it is they that will determine the success or failure of the organisation
3. People want to know how they are doing, what they need to do to improve and how they can apply acquired knowledge and skills back in the workplace.
We therefore conduct continuos reviews relating to individual and/or team performance.

By utilising various learning methods, in all the learning programmes we present, combined with individual effort, (to promote self realisation and ownership), and group working for free cross fertilisation of creative thought and team working, as necessary, we harness the means to implement organisational change.

Our tutors will maintain constant dialogue to provide support, advice, and critical feedback to promote better subject understanding and demonstrate its validity and applicability in work. Our mission is to enhance personal skills and deliver real organisational benefits.

We can also assist in establishing a learning resource centre, supported by learning materials, provide distant learning and a mentoring service, etc.

"There is no such whetstone, to sharpen a good wit and encourage a will to learning, as is praise"
